.2 miles from the Courthouse. Coffeehouses have become the new law libraries in these days of laptops, iPads and VPN servers.  WiFi dependents looking to kill time or get some last minute case law before heading into the big hearing would much rather surf with some java while sitting on a sofa than in some stuffy library.  Setting Java Monkey apart from the shiny Starbucks that you can see from the courthouse steps is a diverse menu and some serious skills in the kitchen.  Stop in for breakfast for a large made-from-scratch biscuit topped with eggs, muenster cheese, and country ham, bacon, pork sausage or a fantastic veggie sausage patty.  Lunch menu highlights include olive tapenade or tomato bruschetta on a toasted baguette, a hummus plate, baked brie, a killer chef salad (topped with cider slaw, prosciutto, turkey, roasted veggies and bacon), veggie panini (eggplant, portabella mushroom, fennel and spinach with a jalapeno aioli), the Cubanini (roasted pork loin, prosciutto, swiss cheese, pickles and mustard), a roast pork sandwich with housemade tomato chutney, and the Bello Prosciutto (with smoked cheddar, granny smith apples, basil aioli and honey).  Seasonal sides include fresh fruit in the summer and daily soups in the winter.  In addition to coffee, there is an extensive selection of loose leaf teas and high-end sodas.  Its a quick in and out if you’re in a hurry or you can find a quiet nook and stay all day.
