3 blocks from (as well as inside) the Courthouse. Coffeehouses have become lawyer hangouts now that we’re all getting iPads (you’ve got to check out all of the new legal apps!) and staying out of the office a little more.  You can hang out in these joints for hours while you get your money’s worth on your Apple investment doing legal research, working on briefs, returning emails or just surfing blogs like this before heading back to court.  As far as the java itself goes, the standard coffee options are becoming more sophisticated by the day and, along with the “farm-to-table” and “locally-sourced” restaurant movements, there are some select coffeehouses that are locally roasting their own beans.  The reason for this is that while you still can’t grow your own coffee in Georgia, by roasting your beans in-house (as opposed to the big factories) you can serve the freshest cup of coffee that is humanly possible around these parts.  Connoisseurs can taste the difference and you likely will too.  Owner Kevin and his bright red San Franciscan roaster have been doing it for a while now just a few blocks from the courthouse (check out the video on their website!).  They have a loyal following and, without a doubt, the tastiest cup of Joe in Marietta.  Add to that free WiFi and delicious pastries.  Be sure to visit their outpost on the 1st floor of the new courthouse which serves the same delicious coffee and pastries, just without all the comfy furniture.  Locally roasted coffee being served right inside the courthouse–now that’s a Georgia first!
